Over 20 years ago, La Plata investments had a plan for 10,000 acres of Colorado Springs real estate. That plan was Briargate Crossing, a Colorado Springs community with a high quality of life. That plan became a reality and a family oriented group of communities. Briargate, Pine Creek and Cordera now reside in the northern Colorado Springs area of real estate. It boasts progressive education, the best in housing, easy access to recreation and major roadways, numerous retail, professional and medical centers, entertainment centers and employment. Briargate crossing has become the northern hub of Colorado Springs real estate with thousands of square footage of commercial real estate and thousands of new residents.
Briargate and pine creek have paved the way as major residential communities since 1995. Pine creek was the first community in Colorado Springs to require that builders and designers adhere to strict guidelines resulting in distinct architectural styles from craftsman, European cottage, prairie and Spanish eclectic. Cordera is the third major residential phase of the project.
Over the past 25 years, La Plata has built over 120 miles of arterial streets. They include Briargate Parkway, Austin Bluffs Parkway, Union Boulevard, and Briargate Boulevard, Lexington Drive north of Woodmen, Chapel Hills Drive, Powers Boulevard from Woodmen to Briargate Parkway, Research Parkway, as well as pedestrian underpasses for safety and convenience. Significant storm-water drainage and major utilities have also been constructed.
The strong foundation-good density, infrastructure, and covenants-has made this one of the more dynamic areas in the whole state.
